Videos and multimedia content enhance engagement and provide dynamic information. Follow these guidelines to ensure all embedded media is accessible, functional, and properly displayed:

  1. Ensure Proper Display
  • Check that videos are embedded correctly and display properly on all devices.
  • Test playback to confirm there are no issues with buffering, loading, or resolution.
  1. Accessibility Requirements
  • All videos must include human-verified captions to ensure accessibility for users with hearing impairments.
  • Provide transcripts for videos or audio content (e.g., podcasts) to offer an alternative way to consume the content.
  • Add audio descriptions for non-visual content conveyed in the video (e.g., charts, on-screen text).
  1. File Formats and Sources
  • Embed videos from supported platforms (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) that are optimized for web delivery.
  • Avoid uploading raw video files directly to the website.
  1. Testing
  • Use screen readers or accessibility testing tools to ensure videos can be navigated and played effectively by all users.
  1. Requesting Assistance
  • For video-related issues, including captioning or embedding problems, submit a ticket to MarCom Help Portal.
Avoid embedding charts or graphs as images. Provide text alternatives instead.
