A MarCom Liaison is a member of the Office
of
Marketing & Communications for the
Cornell
SC Johnson College of Business. Being
a MarCom liaison means helping our content
stewards keep the website strong,
user-friendly, and on-brand. They provide the
training and support needed every step of the
way. A
MarCom
Liaison is assigned to each page of the
website to support the page’s content
steward in ensuring the website's
content is accurate,
up-to-date, and accessible.
Responsibilities of a MarCom Liaison
It is MarCom’s responsibility to:
- Support non-MarCom stewards in
performing governance tasks via Teamwork Desk tickets, such as the Review
Checklist
- Add page-specific review tasks in
addition to the universal page tasks, if
necessary
- Provide guidance and training to
content stewards as needed
- Regularly review assigned pages to
identify gaps in governance
- Proactively assist with large-scale
updates or questions about governance best
practices
MarCom Liaisons have additional
permissions within the Governance
Plugin:
- Can modify Page Governance information
fields
Navigating the Governance Plugin
On any given page, the governance
plugin section displays several links at the
top, depending on your role, are as
follows:
- Liaison View
- Steward View
- Documentation
- Content Updates
The Liaisons View is visible
only to MarCom liaisons. Here you can identity
the MarCom Liaison assigned to that page. You
can assign a MarCom Liaison using the
drop-down selector.
On-Page Content Review Tasks
The tasks listed under this section
help ensure each page is accurate and up to
standards. Use this area to add any
page-specific tasks in addition to the global
on-page content review tasks.
Click the Save Governance Settings button if
you have made changes to the Review
Requirements section.
Click the Save Governance Settings button if you have made changes to the Review Requirements section.
Review Cycles Notifications
The MarCom liaison will receive an
email notification for the:
- Seven-day reminder: The content
steward, the secondary notification
recipient, and the MarCom liaison receive
a notification that the page review is due
in seven days.
The content steward reviews the page and
confirms the review is complete for the
cycle, OR
- Overdue notification: The content
steward, the secondary contact, and the
MarCom liaison receive daily notifications
that the page review is overdue until the
review cycle is marked complete.
The MarCom liaison contacts the steward
and secondary contact to determine what
assistance is needed to resolve the review
cycle.
